Dental implants in Albania: risks, safety and what to check
Dental implant treatment has real risks wherever it is performed. The safest way to compare clinics is to check diagnosis, surgeon, equipment, materials, prosthesis and aftercare, rather than relying on promises.

Understand the risks that actually matter
Implant treatment can involve infection, failure to integrate, nerve or sinus complications, prosthetic problems and peri-implant disease.
The point is not to be scared; it is to ask how the clinic evaluates and manages those risks.
Be cautious with promises that apply to everyone
“Fixed teeth for everyone”, “no bone needed” or “guaranteed result” are not useful clinical explanations. Bone, health, smoking, bite and anatomy can change the plan.
A simple safety test
Before booking, you should be able to explain in one minute: what is being done, why, by whom, with which materials, in how many stages and what happens if something changes.

Ask what happens if the scan changes the plan
A remote estimate can change after examination or CBCT. Before travelling, ask how changes in surgery, price or number of visits will be explained and approved.
Know who treats you and what is being used
Ask for the surgeon’s name, implant brand and line, prosthetic material and laboratory. After treatment, keep the implant documentation.
Use a consultant for clarity, not diagnosis
A consultant can collect information, compare quotes and coordinate the trip. They should not diagnose or choose a surgical treatment in place of the clinician.
BEFORE YOU DECIDE
Want to check a treatment plan before booking?
You can request an assessment even if you do not yet have scans or quotes. If you are starting from zero, we tell you which information is useful to begin with. Send the quote or records you have. If you have none yet, you can still start with an initial assessment and learn what information to request.
Request an assessment →General information only: it does not replace diagnosis, examination or advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
