Cosmetic surgery in Albania: how to choose the surgeon and facility
Price matters, but it comes later. First you need to understand whether the procedure fits your problem, who will perform it, where it will be done and who will follow you afterwards.
Start with the problem, not the procedure name
First ask: what exactly do you want to correct? Loose skin, volume, localized fat, nose shape and breast shape require different operations.
If the procedure does not address the real problem, even technically good surgery may leave you disappointed.
Check who will actually operate
Ask for the surgeon’s name, qualifications and experience with the specific procedure you are considering. “A surgeon will be there” is not enough.
Look at comparable cases and ask who makes the key surgical decisions.
Check where surgery will take place
Ask about the surgical facility, who manages anesthesia and how emergencies are handled. The operating room and postoperative pathway are part of the treatment, not logistics.
Compare what the price actually includes
Compare what is included: surgeon, facility, anesthesia, tests, devices, follow-up, medication and aftercare. Two similar prices can buy very different pathways.
If you travel, the plan must include the journey home
Before booking flights, know how long you should stay, when follow-up takes place and who you contact after returning home.
Travelling too soon or having no plan for complications can make a manageable problem much harder to deal with.
