SKIN QUALITY GUIDE
Chemical peel: what can it improve and when is it not enough?
A peel is not just “a strong cream.” It creates controlled exfoliation. Depth, agent and preparation change the result, recovery and risk.

It mainly improves surface, pigmentation and texture
Depending on the peel, it may help uneven pigmentation, rough texture, some superficial scars, acne and fine lines. Results depend on depth and indication.
It does not correct every sign of facial ageing
A peel does not replace lost volume, significantly tighten loose skin or erase deep scars. Structural problems need a different plan.
Deeper also means more recovery and risk
Superficial, medium and deep peels are not the same treatment. As depth increases, preparation, sun protection, healing time and patient selection become more important.
The acid name does not tell you how deep the peel will be
Glycolic acid, TCA and other agents are only part of the story. Concentration, formulation, passes, exposure and depth can change the treatment completely.
Skin type, pigmentation and medication change the choice
Darker or pigment-prone skin, herpes history, medication and previous treatments should be discussed. The professional must adapt the agent and protocol to the skin.
4 questions before having a chemical peel
Which skin problem are we treating?
What depth of peel are you recommending?
How much downtime should I expect?
What is my risk of pigmentation or irritation?
So: can a chemical peel actually correct your skin concern?
It mainly makes sense when you want to work on surface quality, texture, some pigmentation and skin appearance. If the main problem is volume, significant laxity or facial structure, a peel is not the main tool.
BEFORE YOU DECIDE
Not sure whether you need a peel, laser or something else?
You can request an assessment even if you have not chosen a treatment yet. If you are starting from zero, we begin with what you want to improve. If you send photos and explain what you want to improve, we can help you understand whether the issue appears mainly superficial or whether a different treatment is worth discussing with the doctor.
